Annealing

Strong Convection

The hood annealing furnace indirectly heats the steel through the inner hood. On the one hand, radiant heat transfer through the inner cover wall; on the other hand, heat transfer through gas convection (a circulating fan is installed at the bottom of the furnace).

Shielding Gas

The protective gas is H2:N2=3:1; hydrogen and nitrogen come from the decomposition of ammonia.

The Advantages of Using Hydrogen Protection

The density of hydrogen is 1/14 of that of nitrogen, and the thermal conductivity is 7 times that of nitrogen; the weight of hydrogen is light, its penetration ability is strong, and the heat transfer efficiency is significantly improved; the circulation of protective gas in the inner cover is increased. As a reducing gas, hydrogen can reduce FeO to iron at high temperatures. Effectively prevent decarburization of the material surface. Using hydrogen as a protective atmosphere may make recrystallization more uniform. Improve product performance.

Purpose and Function of Annealing

Reduce hardness and improve cutting performance; Improve plasticity and toughness, which is beneficial to cold deformation processing;
Refine grains, eliminate internal stress after forging and rolling, stabilize the scale, prevent deformation and cracking; Eliminate various defects and improve the organization; Prepare the organization for subsequent heat treatment such as quenching.

Common Welding Annealing Materials

ER80S-D2, ER80S-Ni1, ER80S-1CM, ER80S-Ti ant, etc.
